Dasher

Finalized the design for Dasher the reindeer soft toy today and send it back to Merry Makers in California. Now it goes into production and will be ready for the big Christmas shows we are doing in Portland and in Mississauga in the fall.
Seasons is a huge Christmas themed show in Ontario and we are particating as a sponsor and bringing Santa with us.

Inside the Book Amazon.

Up on Amazon and Barnes and Noble with Look Inside the Book in a few days.
Today I had an amazing conversation with a librarian who decided that this edition should have a place on the holiday shelf to allow library patrons the choice of what edition they want to read. I hope other libraries have a similiar approach and openmindedness - that would be great. I have been online and I started a few forums this week and heard alot of people question the influence. Illustrations such a large part

I thoroughly enjoyed working with the illustrators that were chosen for this book. They were not only professional on right on time they did something I love - they paid attention to detai.. There are petit animals using their tails as blankets and mice holding their toes if you look carefully. To be holding a book in your hands at age three and spy such fun is what it is all about.

Printing on demand

I have printed this book in the old fashioned way - by the truck load and I have them in distribution channels across North Smerica the old fashioned way. Yes we printed with FSC paper and vegetable inks.  I met a woman last night at a reception who was a first time publisher who was going to print on demand. It is something I don't know alot about and I wonder how this works out financially for a writer or self publisher.  I find it not impossible but challenging to be a small publisher espe...

French and Spanish Editions are in bindery

It is just days away until the books are packed up in boxes and the distribution starts that we have been working on for almost a year now. It is not always the case that a publisher releases translations in the same year as launching the book but I felt there was a market for spanish and french books so I thought it would meet the market - so why wait.
